Magashule was expelled from the ANC on 14 June following his failure to submit reasons why he shouldn’t be ousted from the organisation he joined in 1977.

That came on the back Magashule’s suspension as the ANC SG which somehow left the party divided – the former Free State Premier was found guilty of bringing the party into disrepute after he illegally attempted to suspend President Cyril Ramaphosa in May 2021.

Magashule also failed to abide by an official instruction to apologise for the attempt, hence the National Disciplinary Committee (NDC) found him guilty.

Now, Malema has jumped at the opportunity to try and lure Magashule to the EFF in an attempt to woo and take advantage of the following he has ahead of the 2024 national elections.

The EFF wants dethrone the ANC from government, and Malema’s attempt to recruit Magashule and many others is seen as a strategic move.

However, he is not prepared to share the names and the nature of his party’s discussions with the said politicians until the talks are finalised.

“No, no, no… leave it to me and him. We will announce when those discussions are over. I’m talking to a lot of senior people.

“I can’t [share other names]. I have to first conclude the discussions. We are likely to shock a lot of people at FNB Stadium with the kind and calibre of people who will be in attendance there at that rally of the EFF,” added Malema.
