This occurs as a heatwave that began in the City and spread to many other regions of the nation is projected to linger through Sunday.

Certain systems had to be turned off overnight

To give reservoirs and towers time to replenish, certain systems had to be turned off overnight on Saturday.
Technical teams are regularly evaluating reservoirs, according to Nombuso Shabalala, a spokesperson for Joburg Water.
