eThekwini Municipality helps youth obtain drivers licence

With many job opportunities requiring one possess a driver’s licence, eThekwini Municipality has launched a programme to assist the unemployed youth of the City obtain theirs.

DRIVERS LICENCE PROGRAM LAUNCHED

The pilot project is the brain child of mayor Mxolisi Kaunda’s youth office, will look to assist around 150 or more youth.

Announce in September, the programme will have new in take every financial year.

The programme is aimed at benefitting those who come from impoverished backgrounds and unable to obtain one on their own.

Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35 and must not be holders of any licence including a learners licence.

HOW TO APPLY

Step 1: Log onto the municipalities website www.durban.gov.za and click Jobs. Choose Internships and Learnerships. Ensure that you choose the correct option.

Step 2: Create a user profile by clicking on Sign Up. If you already have a profile, click on Log In.

Step 3: Once your profile has been created on the system, you will receive an email confirming that you have successfully registered.

Step 4: Once logged in, you may complete and submit your application

Step 5: Ensure that all fields are filled in.

Step 6: Once you have applied, an email acknowledging your application will be sent to your inbox, so ensure you have a valid e-mail address.
