In the initial search last week, the NSRI had been joined by SA Police Services, Police Search and Rescue, SARZA Search and Rescue and GEMS (Gauteng Emergency Medical Services) on the scene.

WARNINGS BY THE NSRI

According to Eyewitness News, this weekend search and rescue crews split their efforts. One team search the Juskei River near Lanseria while the other team searched the Crocodile River.

The NSRI has appealed to motorists and pedestrians not to attempt to proceed through flooded roadways and not to attempt to cross over bridges affected by swollen or flooded river ways.

Johannesburg EMS spokesperson Xolile Khumalo echoed similar sentiments, adding that people should also refrain from performing any rituals around rivers and streams during heavy rains.
