NSFAS 2024 applications: When do they close?

In a collaborative effort with the Department of Basic Education (DBE) and learners, NSFAS recently celebrated the announcement of the National Senior Certificate (NSC) 2023 results.

Education summit celebrates 82.9% success

The event, attended by government and private stakeholders invested in basic and higher education, revealed an impressive 82.9% pass rate for the 2023 matric cohort.

This marks a notable 2.8% increase from the previous year, allowing over 700 000 matriculants to qualify for entry into the post-school education system. These successful candidates now stand ready to pursue studies at various universities and colleges.

Looking forward, NSFAS is actively gearing up for the 2024 academic year.

NSFAS: Over 1.4 million applications received for 2024 funding

“NSFAS continues to prepare for the 2024 academic year. We are pleased to confirm that to date over 1,406 000 applications for the funding have since been received, with almost 1 million more applications anticipated,” said NSFAS in a statement.
