Home Affairs Minister Dr. Aaron Motsoaledi will open new Home Affairs offices at Menlyn Park Shopping Centre in Tshwane on 6 March 2023.

MENLYN PARK MALL GETS ITS HOME AFFAIRS

Motsoaledi says this fulfills their aim to make Home Affairs services more accessible to people.

The ministers say the new office will offer application and collections services for IDs and passports.

“Clients will have the convenience of applying for these services when they visit the center for shopping,” says Motsoaledi.

CLIENTS CAN SHOP AND APPLY IN ONE STEP

According to Motsoaledi, the Home Affairs Menlyn office is expected to take off pressure from high-volume offices around Tshwane, such as Byron’s Place in the city center, Mamelodi, and Centurion.

“The Department of Home Affairs has signed a mutually beneficial partnership with the Menlyn Park Shopping Centre owners. This partnership is expected to blossom,” says Motsoaledi.

As reported by The South African, Motsoaledi said earlier that immediately after officially opening this Menlyn Mall Pilot, they would go to Cresta Mall in Johannesburg, the Pavillion in eThekwini, and Tygervalley here in Cape Town.

The Minister said they believe all of those will be functional before the end of the coming financial year. That means this calendar year.

The Department of Home Affairs will not pay a single cent for rental for the next five years because this project is mutualism, according to Motsoaledi.

Motsoaledi said they will bring people to come and do their shopping, and the Malls give them space and other convenient facilities. It is a beneficial situation for all.
