The global men’s health organisation, Movember, says that participation in this year’s movement will be ‘the most important’ one yet.
“Our work in mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer has never been more important – and we’ve never needed you more,” the non-profit organisation says on their official website. “It’s been a tough year,” they also reflect on Facebook. “No one could have predicted it and no one could have prepared for it. Now more than ever we must come together and do some good for the world. And there’s no reason we can’t have fun doing it.”
It is said that research conducted by Movember shows the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on men’s mental health is particularly concerning, and it is still far from over. Job losses, relationship stresses and social isolation are continuing to take a toll. In response, the organisation has been working hard to fast-track digital mental health resources, to address the need.
Therefore, every donation, no matter how small adds up. Signing up for Mo-season is also great way to stay connected within your own social circles, as it’s been shown that supporting others can improve your own wellbeing.
Make sure to share your ‘mo’ with us by submitting your pictures in the comments.
