Are you craving a sweet treat? Try our Marie biscuit squares. As the name suggests, this treat includes Marie biscuits smothered in a thick chocolaty sauce. The best part is that this recipe involves no baking. You simply need to melt most of the ingredients together before pouring them over the crushed Marie biscuits.

This Marie biscuit squares recipe is perfect for little hands to get involved in the kitchen. Just make sure there is adequate supervision for the part where ingredients are melted in a pot on the stove.

Whipping together the ingredients take about 15 minutes. Then 30 minutes in the fridge to cool down and set and you are ready to cut this sweet treat in squares and serve.

Ingredients

  • 250 g butter

  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 4 tablespoons condensed milk

  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup

  • 2 packets Marie biscuits

  • 1 large dark chocolate slab, melted

  • sprinkles

Method

  • In a pot add the butter, cocoa powder, sugar, condensed milk and golden syrup. Melt together on low heat.
  • Crush two packets Marie biscuits and add melted mixture. Combine well, coating all the pieces.
  • Transfer to a tray and press down firmly.
  • Top with melted chocolate and sprinkles.
  • Refrigerate for 30 minutes and cut into blocks.
