It’s been an exciting month for King Charles. On the 7th of November, he gave his first King’s Speech (an annual address to kick of UK parliamentary proceedings) to much aplomb and fanfare. And then exactly one week later, on the 14th, the King celebrated his 75th birthday with some style. His highness filled his day by interacting with his loyal subjects, spending time with family and also kicking off a number of charitable causes. However, there was one call he spent his day waiting for.

HOW KING CHARLES’ SPENT HIS 75th BIRTHDAY

It was a day that began with ceremonial gun salutes close to Westminister before they made their way across the city of London. The salutes symbolised how much the nation’s armed forces respect King Charles on his special day. Meanwhile, the King was more focused on celebrating his birthday in a more humble way than the glitz and glam that met his King’s Speech last week.

Instead, King Charles wanted to ensure his citizens felt a part of his special day. He hosted a special reception for the hardworking medical professionals in the NHS including doctors, nurses and midwives. He was also joined by his wife, Queen Camilla, for visits to local charities including one organisation in nearby Didcot.

NO PRINCE HARRY, BUT A PHONE CALL EXPECTED

Following his royal duties, King Charles is expected to return to Windsor Palace where he, Queen Camilla and several other close friends and family members are reportedly joining them for an intimate celebration. Two people who won’t be there are Prince Harry and Meghan Meghan, the Duke and Dutchess of Sussex.

Following icy relations with the Royal Family in recent times, the two of them will remain in the United States of America where they reside with their two children. However, that doesn’t mean they won’t wish their dad/father-in-law a happy birthday. BBC is reporting that Prince Harry is set to phone his father, to wish him a special birthday and a great year ahead.
