In a captivating Instagram post on a frosty February morning, Charles Spencer, the 9th Earl Spencer, shared a mesmerizing glimpse of Princess Diana’s final resting place at Althorp House.

PRINCESS DIANA’S FINAL RESTING PLACE

The 59-year-old Earl uploaded a photo of Oval Lake enveloped in a mystical layer of mist. It created an ethereal atmosphere around the ornamental lake that cradles his sister’s memorial.

The image showed the calmness of the lake, nestled among a cluster of trees, basking in the soft morning light.

Charles accompanied the photo with a poetic caption. He described the scene as “Althorp’s lake just now – an achingly beautiful, frozen, February morning.”

PUBLIC ADMIRATION FOR PRINCESS DIANA

The post got a lot of love from fans and friends. Comments poured in about the “ethereal mist” and the overall breathtaking vista.

One commenter showed thanks, stating, “Thank you for sharing this with us. It’s just breathtaking.” Others commended Charles for his ability to capture the haunting beauty in all his photographs.

Princess Diana’s resting place, located on an island in the lake, remains off-limits to the public, accessible only by boat as reported by Hello Magazine.

Previously, a bridge provided access, but it was later removed for security reasons. This ensured the late Princess’s privacy, as revealed by Prince Harry in his memoir, Spare.

PRINCESS DIANA’S SHRINE

Adjacent to the serene lake, Charles has erected a beautiful shrine accessible to the public as a tribute to Princess Diana.

Visitors often leave flowers, cards, and heartfelt tributes in this accessible memorial.

ALTHORP HOUSE

Charles, who inherited Althorp House after his father’s passing in 1992, resides there with his wife Karen.

Recently, Karen made an interesting discovery in the basement—a stone engraved with what appears to be “half the Spencer family crest,” dating back to 1609.

As the couple continues to renovate their ancestral home, they have also breathed new life into the gardens.

SPENCER LEGACY

They have changed a once forlorn ‘drying garden’ into an explosion of color with vibrant dahlias and runner beans.

The charming post not only offers a glimpse into the serene beauty of Princess Diana’s resting place but also reflects the ongoing efforts of the Spencers to preserve and enhance the historic Althorp House.
