Love is in the air for radio sensation and actor Kininonke Shandu, better known as DJ NK, as he gears up to say ‘I do’ in a traditional umkheho ceremony this Saturday in the heart of Kwa Nongoma, KwaZulu Natal. The former Daily Thetha and popular radio personality is set to tie the knot with his bride, Andile Khanyile.

Hush-hush preparations have been underway, with sources revealing to ZiMoja that the couple has managed to keep their wedding details under wraps to dodge media attention.

HIS REASON FOR BEING QUIET ABOUT THEIR WEDDING

It seems secrecy is key, especially when it comes to Andile, who prefers to stay out of the limelight. An anonymous source gave some inside scoop on the matter, sharing, “He respects the fact that she is not famous and wants to remain like that- hence, he never talks about her or mentions her name during his interviews.”

And if you’re wondering who’ll be on the star-studded guest list, expect a few famous faces. The DJ has orchestrated a celebration with surprise performances from his industry pals, making this not just a wedding but a cultural extravaganza.

According to a close insider, “The wedding will be a beautiful display of culture and tradition, with family and friends coming together to celebrate the union of two people in love.”

Known for his infectious personality, great sense of humour, and ability to connect with his audience, DJ NK has become one of the most liked figures in the entertainment scene. Colleagues and friends are buzzing with excitement, showering the soon-to-be newlyweds with well-wishes.

Confirming the big day, Kini shared, “Look, without getting into details, yes, we’re getting married this weekend traditionally. I am excited and also nervous at the same time because we’re entering a new phase of our relationship.”

HIS ROLE IN UMKHOKHA: THE CURSE

According to ZiMoja, his clear show of respect for interests dear to him surfaced earlier this year in April after he landed a role in the show “Umkhokha- The Curse“.

He took a break from radio to focus on his acting and, more importantly, his two “babies”, namely, Nqaba Media and Sebenza Women’s Awards.

ZiMoja reports that he chose to do this despite having continuous radio offers. “There is never a time or a year where I have never received any offer to go back to radio. The thing is, most of those gigs were clashing with my business,” he said.
