There has been a shocking revelation. Riaan Swiegelaar, the co-founder of the South African Satanic Church (SASC), has revealed that Markus Jooste was a Satanist and co-founder of the church.

A podcast revealed this earlier this week

According to Riaan, he knew the former Steinhoff chief executive Markus Jooste and his family well.

He revealed this during an interview with Wide Awake Podcast earlier this week.

Why is he only revealing this now? Riaan said that after he resigned as presiding priest of the controversial church in 2022, he signed an NDA Nondisclosure Agreement.

When asked why he signed this, he replied that it was for them to let him resign and go.

He said they used this to restrict him from speaking.

According to Riaan, there are influential, high-profile people involved in satanism in South Africa.

“A lot of the members involved consists of CEOs of big companies, people in the media industry and music industry.”

Markus allegedly funded the legal team, sending Riaan indicts to keep him quiet.

Riaan said he is not on a mission to expose certain involved people but rather share why they could not de-register the South African Satanic Church.

The reason why he is speaking about Markus’s involvement is since his suicide in March this year, Riaan, along with his legal team, is now finally able to complete the de-registration of the church.

Authorities have deregistered the SA Satanic Church

Markus shot himself on 21 March with a 9mm pistol in Hermanus.

Riaan also said he is now in the position to speak out as the NDA is not in place anymore since Markus’s suicide.

HOW DID IT ALL START?

He said Markus approached him to start the first Satanic church a few years ago.

The reason why Markus came to me is that his wife came to Riaan a month earlier for a reading. He was very interested in it, and Markus also knew that Riaan was a Satanist.

Markus organized a meeting, which, according to Riaan, involved four other people.

MARKUS ORGANISED THE MEETING TO ESTABLISH THE CHURCH

In the meeting, they told Riaan that they were looking for a spokesperson for the church, someone with an occult background who knows the Christian Bible very well.

“They then asked me what I wanted, and I explained that I wanted double what I was earning then. And it was immediately approved and we started.”

Within two months, they signed contracts and got the church up and running.

They wanted to have Satanism recognised as a religion in South Afric

“It was clear that they never wanted to be the face of the church. They wanted legitimate organisation for satanism to be acceptable, and for it to be a recognised religion.”
