Prince Harry may delay his return to Los Angeles to stay for the Queen’s birthday on 21 April, new reports suggest.

Prince Harry and Prince William: A United Front

According to Metro, the Duke of Sussex, who reportedly held two hours of peace talks with Prince William and Prince Charles after the funeral of Prince Philip, is said to have booked an open flight to the US.

This comes after he revealed that his relationship with his father and brother are strained during a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.

After seeing the two brothers together again for the first time in a year, fans of the royal family got excited to see them together once more. Now, Prince Harry might even stay for the Queen’s 95th birthday – and therefore return to his pregnant wife, Meghan Markle on a later stage. Meghan is believed to be around six months pregnant with their second child and was advised not to travel to the funeral by her doctor.

A source told the Sun: “If all goes well, he could stay for the Queen’s birthday.”

Meanwhile, royal expert Victoria Arbiter said that “it would be nice if Harry could be a part” of the Queen’s birthday. She noted that the Royal Family is trying to rally together around the Queen. Australian TV’s Sunrise host asked Arbiter: “Is there any clue as to when Harry is going to be returning to the US?

“It would be nice to think he could stick around in the UK a little longer to mend some of those bridges. There has been no official word yet. Having been away from his heavily pregnant wife for a week, he is understood to be keen to get back.”

Princess Diana’s statue

What’s more, the brothers are expected to meet again in June when they unveil a new statue of Princess Diana at Kensington Palace.

The Duke of Sussex had to quarantine at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor when he flew in from the US where he lives in his Montecito mansion. Travellers from the US are supposed to self-isolate for ten days but are allowed to go to funerals on compassionate grounds.

The Queen’s birthday

According to The Daily Mail, the bells of Westminster Abbey – the church where the Queen got married to her late husband and crowned – stayed silent on her birthday for the first time in more than a decade last year. There were also no birthday gun salutes after the Queen decided the celebratory display of military firepower would not be ‘appropriate’ at the time. Her official birthday is celebrated in June and is usually marked by the annual Trooping the Colour parade, although that will not go ahead in its traditional form for a second year due to the pandemic.
