Lorna Maseko’s first pop-up in Los Angeles is a flavour of Mzansi

Celebrity chef, author and media personality Lorna Maseko is still making waves in the food industry and in Los Angelos.

In her first pop-up eatery, Lorna Maseko offered traditional Mzansi foods like Magwianya, Atchaar, fish soup, and other mouthwatering regional specialities.

On Instagram, Lorna posted ten pictures of Omarion and other A-listers enjoying her meals.

The pictures showed Lorna cooking delectable meals, serving them, and interacting with her guests. She expressed happiness in the post for getting the chance to finally promote Mzansi cuisine abroad. Lorna thanked all the celebs that came and ate her cuisine.

Maseko gained culinary prominence when she placed in the top six of “Celebrity Masterchef SA.” She also owns two Gourmand World Cookbook Awards and hosts the BBC Lifestyle cooking programme “Homegrown Tastes South Africa.” Maseko just hosted her first pop-up restaurant in Los Angeles, California, where she featured South African cuisine, and she is presently on cloud nine.

People from Mzansi, who were beaming with pride, flooded the comments section. Zizo Tshwete and Ayanda Thabethe, two well-known figures, were also seen congratulating Lorna Maseko on their significant accomplishment.

Lorna Maseko Biography

South African television host, ballet dancer, choreographer, MC, and managing director of Fabulous Production, Lorna Maseko, was born on July 3, 1983. She is also an international celebrity chef, award-winning cookbook author, TV host, and media personality.

In December 2010, Lorna married Gcina “GC” Lukhele, a sales professional located in Johannesburg.

At Memoire’s wedding location in Muldersdrift, the couple said their vows in front of family and friends. The pair chose to end their marriage in 2016 after six years of marriage.

At the 2016 YOU Spectacular Awards, she made an appearance on stage to present Emtee, a South African rapper, with the prize. Lorna also revealed to Sowetan LIVE that she is a recent divorcee and is eager to meet new people. Despite the fact that she withheld the details of her divorce.

Career

Lorna later joined the SA Ballet Theatre group while still under contract with Ballet Theatre Afrikan.

At the time, she was the sole professional dancer of colour. She left her job as a ballet in 2007 to pursue a career in television. In addition to working as a producer on Afro Showbiz News for SABC Africa, Lorna was hired as a presenter by SABC.

Lorna applied for the first-ever Top Billing Presenter Search while working for the SABC. She reached the top ten (10). She served as co-host and producer of SABC News International’s The Weekender, a live current affairs and magazine morning programme.

She gave up her job as a presenter in 2009 to launch her own firm, Events and Lifestyle Management. Additionally, she was requested by Top Billing to record a section for the 2010 World Cup, and as a result, she was given a regular contract on the programme.

In 2013 Lorna joined the panel of judges for the SABC1 reality competition programme So You Think You Can Dance. She participated in the e.tv game programme I Love South Africa in the year that followed, in 2014.

She appeared as the featured guest on SABC1’s music chat show Zaziwa. Two years later, in 2016, she was named the host of the debut season of the SABC3 reality competition series Top Chef South Africa.

The following year, in 2017, Lorna served as the presenter of her cuisine and lifestyle reality series, The Hostess with Lorna Maseko.
