Business tycoon Sir Wicknell Chivayo took to Instagram to show off his R2.5 million Gucci watch he purchased eight months ago.

Undoubtedly, the Zimbabwean businessman lives lavishly and is unapologetic. In 2023, he revealed that he had splurged R2.5 million on a Gucci timepiece, G-Timeless Dancing Bees. However, he finally received it after eight months of customisation.

Taking to social media, the business tycoon showed off his watch, which he received from an exclusive Gucci Shop in South Africa.

Wicknell Chivayo’s purchase makes him the first African customer of the G-Timeless Dancing Bees timepiece, which is custom-made per the client’s request. However, according to Gucci, the model has two visual styles.

The two visual styles include with or without a jewel-encrusted case. However, a diamond-set bracelet is also optional at an additional fee. No doubt Gucci boasts of exclusivity, and this comes at a cost—prices of the timepiece range from R2.5 million to R4.5 million.

Photos and videos of the watch have gained thousands of comments and reactions on social media, with many trying to connect the dots about Wicknell Chivayo’s watch’s features.

However, some of the specs that make it stand above the rest include:

  • 40 mm 18kt yellow gold case with diamonds
  • Tiger eye dial with moving bees
  • Brown alligator strips

Watch Movement

  • Swiss BCP T12 manual Tourbillon
  • 110h power reserve
  • 19 jewels

Minerals Weight

  • 84.3g – 18kt yellow gold
  • 218 diamonds – 580 ct

Undoubtedly, the watch adds to Wicknell Chivayo’s collection of several Rolex’s worth thousands.

Back home in Zimbabwe, the business mogul playground is making headlines. Wicknell Chivayo donated R18 million to ZCC Zimbabwe. He was part of the presidential delegation that travelled to Masvingo Province to join the rest of the ZCC pilgrims in celebrating their annual Passover celebrations.

However, this is one of his biggest donations in recent months. In 2023, Wicknell Chivayo blessed several leaders and congregants from his church with cars.

After all, his spending sprees have attracted global attention, from buying an R700 million jet to being the first Rolls-Royce Spectre owner in Zimbabwe. Wicknell Chivayo has a soft spot for cars and has recently splurged millions.

However, Wicknell Chivayo’s impressive collection boasts some of the finest cars, including:

  • Rolls-Royce Cullinan
  • Rolls-Royce Spectre
  • Mercedes-Benz Maybach GLS600
  • Rolls-Royce Ghost
  • Rolls-Royce Phantom
