Five out of the seven suspects arrested for the murder of AKA and Tibz appeared at the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Thursday morning, 29 February as seen in a video shared on X (the social media platform previously known as Twitter).

FIVE SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN AKA’S MURDER CASE STEP INSIDE THE DOCK

The late rapper AKA whose real name is Kiernan Jarryd Forbes and celebrity chef Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane were shot and killed in Durban on Florida Road on the evening of 10 February 2023.

Seven suspects linked to the duo’s murders have been arrested. However, only five of them appeared in court today. According to eNCA, two of the other suspects are still apprehended in Eswatini.

During a press briefing on Tuesday, Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi said although the South African Police Service is satisfied with all the evidence that they have gathered, “things happen in court” and lawyers can always twist things.

“They will always twist and turn things and the case may take longer than perhaps we may all want it to take. But, that will be left to the court,” Mkhwanazi said.
