‘Mampara club’: Mzansi reacts to Springboks star’s favourite team

Springboks star Damian Willemse revealed that his favourite football English team is Arsenal. It was a big day for soccer fans as two of the top English teams, Arsenal and Manchester City, clashed on 31 March.
The two teams are at the top of the table, battling to win this year’s trophy as champions. With games coming fast and thick, the pressure increases among fans.
This is when titles are won, and some clubs blow it up like Arsenal did last season. After almost a year of good football leading at the top, Arsenal struggled in the previous few games and lost the league.
This time, they look like a different team and show they have learned the lessons. Whether or not they have learnt the lessons enough, only the last few games would tell.
Despite all their flaws in recent years, the Springboks player Damian Willemse still loves them and is confident they will win the league.
SPRINGBOKS STAR DAMIAN WILLEMSE REVEALED HIS FAVOURITE TEAM
The talented rugby star had been making headlines when he won the Rugby World Cup in France. Fans cited Damian and his teammates’ winning mentality, and that shocked fans when he revealed that he supports Arsenal.
The Springboks World Cup winner shared his love for Arsenal on his Instagram.
“Sun Day Red ⚽️👌🏾❤️” he said.
OTHER SPRINGBOKS WHO LOVE SOCCER
Indeed, not only did Damian love football, but some of his fellow Springboks also once showed their teams. Among them is his Springboks captain, Siya Kolisi, a die-hard Liverpool fan.
Over the years, Siya Kolisi has been open about his love for Liverpool and has even travelled to England to watch them. Besides going there on match days, he visited several times for their training.
A few weeks ago, Siya met with Jurgen Klopp and some of the Liverpool players, and he looked happy. Besides Siya, Bongi Mbonambi also showed that he was a top fan of Manchester City.
Bongi shared several pictures of him wearing the Manchester City jersey, and like Damian, he also divided his fans.

After the Springboks player Damian Willemse revealed that Arsenal was his favourite team, he left fans taking sides. Some fans claimed he supported the best team, while some called Arsenal losers.
