‘Grief is the price’: Doctor Khumalo’s tribute to Siphiwe Mkhonza melts hearts
Kaizer Chiefs legend Doctor Khumalo left fans in tears with his heartfelt tribute to the late former Siphiwe Mkhonza.

Kaizer Chiefs legend Doctor Khumalo penned a heartfelt tribute to the late star Siphiwe Mkhonza on 5 May.
The news of the death of one of the former Bafana Bafana left most South African football fans in tears. Fans did not know much about his illness and only found out after his death.
Mkhonza played for some of the top teams in the country, like Kaizer Chiefs, AmaZulu, Bloemfontein Celtic and Lamontville Golden Arrows. His long career representing this large number of clubs made fans across love him.
This made his death touch the hearts of most South African football fans. Among them was Doctor Khumalo, who left some fans in tears.
“May his soul rest in eternal peace 😢 I’m disbelief 😢” a fan named Phindile Khumalo cried.
DOCTOR KHUMALO’S TRIBUTE TO SIPHIWE MKHONZA
Sharing on his Instagram, Doctor Khumalo expressed how much Mkhonza’s death touched him.
“What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us,” he said. “Grief is the price we pay for love. Studio 7 will never be the same without you.💔💔🕊️🕊️” he continued about the environment they had working with Mkhonza and Studio 7.
