Multi-award-winning actor Leroy Gopal recently celebrated 19 years in the film and entertainment industry – he is best known for several acting roles, one of which was as Duma Mzamo in Backstage which played back in the early 2000s. Where is Leroy Gopal now?
LEROY GOPAL ON ‘BACKSTAGE’
Zimbabwe-born South African actor, and comedian Leroy Gopal starred alongside several iconic actors in Backstage including, Pam Andrews, Katlego Danke, Baby Cele, and more. The youth-target soap opera played on eTV and was produced by Bottom Line Productions, TVSA reported.
Backstage lasted from 2000 up to 2007 and was a show that revolved around the lives of college students who attended Vulindlela College – a school of the performing arts located in downtown Joburg. Since the show ended almost 20 years ago, Gopal is now 44 years and has managed to keep his career in the film and entertainment industry going.

Besides bagging TV roles from time to time, Leroy Gopal managed to secure a slot on YouFM where he has been covering the breakfast show. Earlier this year, he took to his social media and announced that he was doing his last show on the radio station. It’s uncertain where he planned to go from there. Nonetheless, Gopal is a man of many talents as his bio states. He is an actor, creative director, MC, and facilitator.
When he is not working, he spends time with his family including his girlfriend Keke, his two daughters, and his son, 16-year-old Keagile Leroy Gopal.
