This comes after it was reported that police had been keeping a very close eye on the three suspects during the course of the week before making the arrests.

According to a source close to the investigation, the suspects will be brought to Durban where they are expected to be charged as they are still in police custody in Cape Town.

AKA and Tibz were murdered in cold blood on 10 February in Durban outside Wish on Florida restaurant when two gunmen opened fire in full view of CCTV cameras.

Mkhwanazi also appealed to the public to work with the police in their investigations.

“We want to encourage communities to come on board and share information. In the investigation of Mr Forbes who was murdered last month; majority of the work we did thus far it is because of the help from the community. The different cameras in that vicinity are not installed by the state, but it is those cameras that are helping us to analyse and identify some of those people who might have been involved and it helps us to make linkages,” he said.
