BRICKZ IS REMORSEFUL

A friend of Brickz (real name Sipho Charles Ndlovu) who prefers to stay anonymous, told Zimoja that has visited the Kwaito star in prison this year and he looks positive.

The friend added that he’s very remorseful and serving his time the best way he knows as he hadn’t accepted he’ll serve time at first but he is now at peace and paying his dues.

Ndlovu is reportedly involved in projects and keeping himself busy and hasn’t stopped making music. The friend added Brickz, who listens to more gospel music,  makes gospel, and also sings in the choir.

“He has always been a good singer outside of kwaito and rapping. He will always be a Kwaito artist, but the gospel has kept him sane and thinking positively. His faith has improved, and he is wise and a spiritual guy. That is the Sipho that we all grew up with before the fame,” reports the publication.

HOW THE MUSICIAN ENDED UP IN PRISON

Sowetan reported in August 2018 that the kwaito-turned-gospel musician Sipho Charles Ndlovu aka Brickz was found guilty of raping his then 16-year-old relative at his rented house in Northgate, north of Joburg, in 2013 and was sentenced to 15 years in prison in 2017.

According to the victim’s testimony, the 16-year-old bled after the incident and her hymen broke, as she was a virgin at the time, and was in severe pain.

The star reportedly told the teenager to take a bath after the rape ordeal and threatened to kill her if she told anyone.

Zimoja adds that the victim was not aware that she had been infected with a sexually transmitted disease. She said that after the ordeal, she wanted to end her life as she was fearful of the musician.

The victims’ father known as Bab’ Ngwenya said the family had lost hope and given up on the law until he was sentenced.

Bab’Ngwenya added that Brickz showed no remorse for his actions and refused to apologise when he was told to visit the family to ask for forgiveness from the victim.
