South African musician and Idols SA judge Unathi Nkayi is pretty shaken up after going through a harrowing incident this morning (4 August). The media personality headed to her Instagram page where she shared a number of video clips of herself involved in an altercation with a local taxi driver who scraped her Porsche.

Unathi has a horrible experience

Mzansi singer and Idols SA judge Unathi was left reeling after having a horrible experience with a rude taxi driver early this morning. Taking to her Instagram page, the singer shared a number of clips of herself being harassed by a taxi driver who ignored the rules of the road and in doing so, scraped the side of her expensive Porsche.

In the clips, Unathi can be seen exiting from her car to approach the driver so that she can get his contact details to discuss a way going forward. As she approaches the taxi driver, he immediately starts shouting at her, attempting to intimidate her.

While one can hear how upset she is, Unathi does not back down and continues to hold the man accountable for the accident. In the clip, the man also appears to be threatening to hit Unathi while shoving her backwards. Some men who were witnessing the incident unfold, also start to hold her back and she is heard telling them not to touch her.

“WHAT we deal with as South African WOMEN!!!!! He bumps my car, shouts at me to intimidate me. When that doesn’t work he repeatedly puts his hands on me. When that doesn’t work he flees. BUT the other men trying to diffuse the situation ALSO think it’s okay TO PUT THEIR HANDS ON ME. Happy Women’s Month ladies. PS I’m fine. Will open up a hit and run case. WOAW South Africa. WOAW,” she captioned her posts.

Meanwhile, other women discuss Women’s Day in SA

After seeing the post, both her fellow celebs and fans were in the comment section sharing what it’s like for them to celebrate Women’s Month in a country where women don’t feel safe. A lot of them also shared messages of comfort and support with Unathi while others shared instances where they too were attacked by taxi drivers:

“I hope they get him and please post him when he’s paying for your car. These ones think they can do anything I had an identical situation in late 2019.”
