Emtee proud of himself for being free from ‘the devil’ that is alcohol
Hip hop artist Emtee says he is very proud of himself as he has not consumed alcohol in 10 years.

Rapper Emtee – real name Mthembeni Ndevu – is celebrating 10 years of sobriety and he is proud of himself.
10 YEARS OF SOBRIETY FOR EMTEE
The 31-year-old hip hop artist took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to share that he has not consumed alcohol since 2013.
“Manne I’m proud of myself. 10 years sober from alcohol. That thing is the devil. Stoners be down to earth like a mf,” he wrote.

SMOKING MARIJUANA AND HIS MESSY DIVORCE
Emtee does however smoke weed, according to his post in June.
The Plug hitmaker was hitting back at his estranged wife Nicole Kendall Chinsamy’s claims that he is a drug addict.
The reports were made by Sunday World, who wrote that Nicole accused him of using drugs in a police statement she filed when she opened a case of gender-based violence (GBV) against him earlier this year.

Slamming the reports in several posts, he wrote: “Bombshell yokunuka [Bombshell my a**]. Who doesn’t know I smoke, I use to sip lean. Manje!?,” he wrote in one post.
In another post, Emtee said his estranged wife has never bought him anything, further accusing her of stealing his money.

He went on to explain that he doesn’t consume alcohol, all he does is just smoke his weed. Emtee said, having grown up in Hillbrow, he always tells the younger generation not to smoke weed while they are still in school, saying he only started when he was old to buy it with his hard-earned money.
The former couple called it quits in March after Emtee was arrested for allegedly assaulting Nicole – accusations the muso has repeatedly denied.

In April, a month before they welcomed their third baby, she extended an olive branch and withdrew the charges. In the same month, the hip hop artist filed for divorce, as reported by TshisaLIVE in May.
