Ari Lennox has become the laughing stock of South African Twitter after she trended on the platform all weekend.

From clapping back at Mac G to dishing out insults at his fans to even going on a rant about her lyrics, music and desire to drop her record label. She also vowed to never do another interview again nor set foot in South Africa.

This, all after a snippet from her interview with Mac G last week went viral.

In it, the outspoken South African podcaster asked her a question about her sex life, something he claims she sings about in one of her tracks.

Now the songbird is back defending her raunchy lyrics and why she will continue to “sing about d***”.

ARI LENNOX TWEETS CAUSE A TIZZ

Ari Lennox had the tweeps in a tizz – well at South African ones – when she defiantly tweeted about continuing to write and perform her explicit lyrics.

She tweeted: “I will continue to sing about dick when I want! And you misogynistic peasants can continue to jerk off to my music thank you!”.

She also went on a Twitter tangent about the criticism she received to both her music and her social media antics.

To top it off, Ari Lennox fired several shots at South African tweeps, who continued to bash her over her words.

One tweep even asked Twitter to ban her, to which she delivered a scathing clapback.

“Shut your ugly ass up”

“You literally look like a thumb!”

“Sit this one out”

TWEETS ABOUT GHANA BACKFIRE

Meanwhile Ari Lennox’s recent tweets about visiting Ghana have also come to light following her debacle with South African tweeps.

The US singer may want to never visit Mzansi, but she is a big fan of the west African country. Well, at least, until recently.

After performing at Afrochella, the outspoken star took to Twitter to praise the country and it’s calming effect on her.

In since-deleted tweets, she posted: “Wow it’s a rare and good feeling to consistently wake up with peace and happiness. I really owe that to Ghana. And I don’t know how long it’ll last but I’ll cling on to this.”

“Depression and anxiety is not fun. It’s truly nice to get a break from it. ’ll never forget suddenly crying the first time going to a beach in Ghana. It was so triggering. And I didn’t feel alone. My heart ached/aches for my ancestors. It was a surreal experience.”

Ari Lennox faced backlash from her Twitter following – particularly Ghanaian ones – over her tweets.

“Are your ancestors even from Ghana?”

“This woman thinks she’s in Wakanda. This is too corny. Omg”

“What is this nonsense? Can y’all just have a normal vacation without being weird or exploitive or WEIRD?!”

“Just went to Ghana and connected with my ancestors @AriLennox I am now flowing with black panther energy Wakanda forever.”
