Pop sensation Katy Perry sent social media into a frenzy after a video of her eye malfunctioning on stage during one of her performances at the Las Vegas Resorts World show a few days ago.

When the apparent twitching refuses to stop, Katy Perry presses a finger against her temple to prevent her eyelid from drooping. She repeats the process when her eyelid droops once again until she’s able to open both eyes at the same time.

Katy Perry appeared shocked for a moment before asking the audience on her microphone to make more noise for her band.

While Katy Perry has not addressed the incident, she has previously revealed that she suffers from a condition that she calls a “wonk eye” — NewsWeek reported.

During the 2021 season of American Idol, the singer who recently turned 38, opened up about her eye in a bid to comfort 16-year-old contestant Caleb Kennedy when he was feeling insecure about his lazy eye.

“I have a wonk eye as well, and I used to be worried about it.

“Then a bunch of my fans created a fandom over my wonk eye. I even have a fandom that calls itself, ‘Katy’s Wonk eye’,” she explained on the show.

“It’s my right eye. So just celebrate all that stuff. Don’t worry about it,” she added.

Katy Perry’s eye “glitch” invited several theories from social media users, with anti-vaxxers claiming the twitch is vaccine-related.

Some even went as far as remixing the lyrics of her hit song Roar from “eye of the tiger” to “eye of the Pfizer”.

Other conspiracy theorists claimed that she was a robot or it was her clone that was performing on stage.

Meanwhile, others suggested she may have been struck down by facial paralysis like fellow singer Justin Bieber who revealed in June that he has Ramsay Hunt Syndrome.
