SA legal team wins hearts of millions for genocide case at ICJ

The SA legal team received global recognition for its work in the genocide case against Israel at the ICJ in Hague on Thursday.

South Africa’s (SA’s) legal team was given a global standing ovation for delivering a compelling case against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) gaining the country respect worldwide.

Millions of people across the world who watched who followed the proceedings expressed unwavering support and admiration for the SA legal team’s brains, who told the court horrific details about the death toll and a war on children.

One social media user by the name of Saamia Rahman said: “The world is held together, really it is held together, by the love and the passion of a very few people.”

“May God bless each and every single one of them,” said @6uhle.

TEAM-SA: EXEMPLARY DEFENDERS OF HUMANITY

“Today’s ICJ hearing was devastating. Horror after horror, laid out in plain sight for all to see. South Africa spoke for millions around the world desperate for this massacre to end — and put the UK & US government to shame for their deplorable silence, cowardice and complicity,” wrote former UK opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn on social media.

A WAR ON CHILDREN: THE COURT HEARS

On average 270 Palestinians are killed daily and approximately 48 mothers were killed each day, two every hour and over 117 children each day.

FORMER PUBLIC PROTECTOR COMMENDS TEAM SA

Former public protector Thuli Madonsela also commended South Africa’s legal team saying it was exemplary in sticking to the facts, and for recommending provisional relief for the people of Palestine.

“I hope Israel will play the ball not the player. South Africa’s motivation or affinities are immaterial,” she posted on social media,

RAMAPHOSA: NEVER FELT SO PROUD TO BE SOUTH AFRICAN

President Cyril Ramaphosa said he is proud of the way the legal team presented its case against Israel, “strongly and forcefully”. 

“I must say that I have never felt as proud as I felt today when our legal team was arguing our case in The Hague,” he told the ANC Women’s League umanyano gathering in Mbombela Mpumalanga on Thursday, according to Business Day.
