The hotel now offers dedicated pet-friendly rooms for guests arriving with their pets.

THE NELLIE ROOMS

The Mount Nelson Hotel’s pet-friendly section (known as The Nellie) comes with expansive grounds where pets can be walked.

Thus, owners and pets can enjoy the beauty of Cape Town while on holiday.

The iconic hotel is pulling out all the stops for 4-legged guests, also known as pets.  

With personalised welcome cards and treats on arrival, these bespoke pet offerings mark another chapter in the Mount Nelson’s history.

PET-FRIENDLY HOTEL ROOMS

The hotel has five ground-floor rooms where pets are welcomed with the same relaxed sophistication as guests.

Pets can expect food and water bowls (placed on a luxurious cork mat), cushy custom-made pillow beds and even a refreshing welcome drink too!

PET-FRIENDLY HIGH TEA

According to IOL, the grand hotel offers high tea, which pets are welcome to attend.

Guests can create new memories with their four-legged friends at Afternoon Tea, featuring a dedicated pet menu.

HOTEL CONDITIONS

A maximum of two pets are allowed in each of the five dedicated pet rooms.

There is no size restriction at The Nellie. However, dogs must be well-behaved and sociable animals.

Also, dogs are expected to be accompanied and on a lead at all times. Pets may not be left alone in the hotel room.

PET HOLIDAYS

In recent years, there has been a growing trend for pet owners to take their pets with them on trips.

Therefore, service providers have had to cater to travellers who bring their pets with them on holiday.

Airlines have eased restrictions on carrying pets on flights. Hotels have also dedicated sections of their properties to travellers with owners.
