The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a yellow level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms with possible large amounts of small hail and heavy downpours in five provinces. The warning is for Monday, 11 December and here are tips on what to avoid during a storm. The weather service said the weather phenomenons may lead to localised flooding of susceptible roads, low-lying areas and bridges and minor vehicle accidents as well as localised damage to informal houses are expected over Gauteng, the Highveld and escarpment of Mpumalanga, south-western parts of Limpopo, as well as eastern parts of the North West and north-eastern parts of the Free State.
