Millions of South Africans are reliant on the R350 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant distributed by the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA). Have you applied for it? Here’s how you can track the status of your application. The COVID-19 Social relief of distress (SRD) grant is a fund that was recently introduced to assist members of South African society who do not have any income, nor receive any assistance from the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) or other social relief mechanisms.  Once you’ve submitted your application, you can track it on WhatsApp. This is one of the few platforms that SASSA has given applicants as an option to track the progress of their applications. Applicants must confirm or provide the information below to enable SASSA to consider their social relief grant application.
