Overall, more than 20 rainfall RECORDS were broken in one day across the three provinces of South Africa. According to VoxWeather, a total of 22 rainfall records were broken in one day across the Western, Northern, and Eastern Cape. This comes after SEVERE weather conditions wreaked havoc the past weekend. Extreme weather conditions caused DESTRUCTION in the Western Cape. Social media users posted photos and videos of the damage and destruction. The SA Weather Services (SAWS) issued a level 9 weather warning for disruptive rain for Saturday and Sunday. The severe storms in several provinces over the weekend have impacted people in different ways. Large parts of the Western Cape were hit by heavy downpours and gale-force winds that led to severe flooding and road closures.
