In an explosive twist, Dr. Nandipha Magudumana, through her legal representatives, has penned a letter alleging abuse by influential South African families. Magudumana faces charges including fraud, corruption, arson, and aiding a prisoner’s escape, involving Thabo Bester, a convicted rapist and murderer. After fleeing to Tanzania, the duo was apprehended 7 April 2023. Magudumana’s letter, revealed by SABC journalist Chriselda Lewis, sheds light on her ordeal and her fellow female inmates’ plight. “I have suffered physical, emotional, financial, and sexual abuse at the hands of powerful men, including some of the most powerful and prominent families in South Africa currently occupying the highest offices in government and business,” said Magudumana.
