On Sunday the Democratic Alliance (DA) passed a resolution that calls for stronger disaster management policies. The DA said that it wants to reduce the impact of disasters in municipalities nationwide. There was a total of 43 resolutions proposed at the congress. DA member Traverse Le Goff said that he was worried about the intensity of the various disasters. On Thursday Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi says he is concerned over the ongoing lack of service delivery in Johannesburg, Tshwane, and Ekurhuleni.
