OFFICIAL: The Sims 4 Island Living expansion confirmed – watch the trailer [video]

It’s official! The next Sims 4 expansion pack will be Island Living! We kinda already knew that this was going to be a thing after months of leaks, but it’s official and we now have some more official details.

Yes, there will mermaids. Yes, they will be playable. Yes, the world will be livable. And yes, there will be new careers and LOADS of new objects and architecture options. We cannot wait. Even if we’re a bit bleak that there’s no whispers of university just yet.

The Sims 4 team took gameplay to a whole new level with this expansion though.

If your Sims want to take care of the island, they can become a conservationist to help keep the beaches clean and wildlife safe. But the island will change and respond to how your Sims look after it, the better you care for your island – the more the island’s biodiversity will increase. Oh, and there’s also an active volcano and dolphins.

The pack’s official description is as follows:

Escape the ordinary and enjoy a laid-back lifestyle surrounded by beaches in The Sims 4 Island Living!* Explore a breezy world drenched in sun, sand, and endless fun as your Sims make their own paradise.

The Sims 4 Island Living release date

The expansion pack is available for pre-order on Origin now and will be released on PC on 21 June. Console players will get it earlier on 16 June.
