For the rest of the year, Epic Games will be given away PC games for free. All you have to do, is download the game you want. Take note, you will only be able to download a game during the week it’s on promotion.

This is music to our ears. I mean, who would say no to free games? The promotion kicked off with Rebel Galaxy, followed by Last Day of June. You still have a day to download the latter.

Overcooked will be available for free from 4 July to 11 July. Head on over to Epic games and download the chaotic couch co-op cooking game as soon as possible. If that’s your thing.

Overcooked – What you need to know

It’s a frantic little multiplayer game – for up to four players. You need to rapidly prepare meals to the exact requirements set out for each task. The better you get, the more coins you will earn.

There are 28 kitchens in the game and it’s your duty to serve the finest cooking and save the Onion Kingdom.

The levels get harder as you progress. But from a personal point of view, I’m probably not going to be a fan.

Look, I’ve wasted a fair amount of time playing similar games on mobile. Being stuck on public transport or some other such place.

I’m not convinced that it will translate well as a PC game. When I do have time to play – not on my mobile, mind you – I’d rather spend a few hours wandering through Tamriel or the wastelands of Fallout.

But to each his own, no judgement. That said, Overcooked seems like fun, and the game developers have a pun or two up their sleeve. According to the description on Epic Games:

“Sharpen your knives and dust off your chef’s whites, there isn’t mushroom for error and the steaks are high in these crazy kitchens!”

They guarantee players that Overcooked is easy enough for anyone to play, as long as you play with a team you can rely on. Lest you want the pizza to hit the fan. You can play solo as well.

Previous deal – Last Day of June

If you hurry, you can still get Last Day of June before the deal expires on 4 July. It’s a puzzle adventure and you get to go on a magical outing with Carl and June.

The beautifully designed game is an interactive tale about love and loss. It was created by Italian developer Ovosonico and has been translated into more than 10 languages, including French, Spanish, Japanese and Russian.

In other news, Death Stranding will be released on 4 November. We still can’t make out much of the game plot but that’s just Hideo Kojima doing what Hideo Kojima does best. It looks amazing though. Don’t forget to pre-order.
