One of the highlights of this year’s Gamescom was Hideo Kojima’s upcoming blockbuster game, Death Stranding. Kojima shared updates during the Opening Night Live showcase.

Apart from introducing two new characters, we also learned that Norman Reedus’ bodily fluids are weaponised. And while Death Stranding was the most talked about segment, it shouldn’t take away from the other blockbuster releases.

The five most anticipated blockbuster trailer releases came in the form of Destiny 2, FIFA 2020, Need for Speed, Stranger Things and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Let’s take a look.

New trailer releases at Gamescom 2019

Need for Speed Heat

Get ready for four minutes of gameplay preview, customisation showcase, challenges and collectables. Apart from launching on PlayStation 4, Xbox and PC on 8 November, it will also be available on iOS and Android.

FIFA 2020

FIFA 2020 includes the Volta modes. FIFA 2020 launches on 27 September 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox, PC and Nintendo Switch. More trailers will likely be released from now until then.

If you’re an EA Access player however, you get a week’s early play, with the game launching on the subscription service on 19 September 2019.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

A call back to Modern Warfare, which was released 12 years ago. The remake includes a re-imagining of the franchise sub-series. In addition, developer Infinity announced that a five-map alpha test weekend will begin on 23 August.

The game launches on 25 October, on PC, Xbox and PlayStation 4.

Stranger Things: Dead by Daylight

Get ready for the new chapter, only three years after the previous chapter was released. The Netflix crossover features the series’ Nancy Wheeler, Steve Harrington, a Demogorgon entity and the Hawkins National Lab Underground Complex.

The game simply wouldn’t have been the same without those components, but I do feel as if the developers could have given us more. Dead by Daylight launches in September 2019 on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep will launch on 1 October 2019, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. It’s the fourth Destiny 2 expansion, and the first expansion since the studio, Bungie, and the publisher, Activision, parted ways.

It was also announced that New Light will be revised. Fans can look forward to two expansions, as well as a free-to-play revision of the main title.
