Bitcoin (BTC) has seen its biggest daily loss in nearly a month as the OG cryptocurrency plunged below $10,000 earlier today. Major altcoin markets have suffered as a result with most of the top twenty cryptos all seeing red. Here are your latest cryptocurrency news and prices.

The last time that the number one cryptocurrency traded below $10,000 was on July 31. At around noon UTC August 14, BTC’s price began to drop drastically from $10,862 to as low as $9,888 before trading action bought the price back up above $10,000. At the time of writing, BTC is down by 5.74% and trading at $9,943.78 per coin as per data from CoinMarketCap.

Latest Ethereum (ETH) news and prices

Ethereum is on the course of having four bearish days in a row. This Wednesday, the price of ETH/USD fell from $209 to $186.85. Over the last four days, the price has fallen from $216.50 to $186.85. The hourly break down of the chart shows that the price plummeted from $205.60 to as low as $182.50 in just two hours before correcting itself to $189.15. After that, the price fell to $186.85.

Latest Ripple (XRP) news and prices

Peter Brandt, a veteran trader, in several tweets accused Ripple, the largest HODLer of XRP tokens, of price manipulation.

As of August 14, XRP has dropped to its lowest point against Bitcoin (BTC) in more than two years. Furthermore, the XRP/USD pair is currently circling 11-month lows.

However, for Brandt, the current price action at $0.26 is the result of manual intervention on Ripple’s part and not as a result of organic market forces. According to the trader, should this questionable practice fail, XRP tokens could be doomed to drop by another 20%.

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) news and prices

Bitcoin Cash ABC tumbled by 9.56% on Wednesday. Reversing a 5% gain from Tuesday, Bitcoin Cash ABC ended the day at $311.31.

A particularly bullish start to the day saw Bitcoin Cash ABC strike an early intraday high $358.24.

Bitcoin Cash ABC broke through the first major resistance level at $354.2 before succumbing to crypto market forces.

A crypto meltdown led to a Bitcoin Cash ABC slide to a late afternoon intraday low $305.11.

Litecoin (LTC) news and prices

Litecoin also tumbled on Wednesday, falling by 10.27%. Following on from a 1.46% fall on Tuesday, Litecoin ended the day at $75.81.

A relatively bullish start to the day saw Litecoin strike an early intraday high $86.07 before hitting reverse.

Falling short of the first major resistance level at $86.38, Litecoin tumbled to a late intraday low $74. The sell-off saw Litecoin fall through the major support levels on the day.

Whilst finding support late in the day, Litecoin failed to break back through the third major support level at $77.61.

At the time of writing, Litecoin was up by 0.84% to $76.45. A relatively bullish start to the day saw Litecoin rise from a morning low $75.64 to a high $77.36 before easing back.

Binance Coin (BNB) news and prices

Binance Coin price had been trading at twenty-nine dollars ($29.282) but the price has now taken a dip towards eighteen dollars and is currently trading at twenty-seven dollars ($27.126). 
The price is currently trading with a bearish outlook as the price broke below the twenty-day estimated moving average (EMA). Although there is support it is very shallow and a fall to twenty-four dollars ($24.1709) is highly possible. On the other hand, the moving averages and the relative strength index (RSI) show consolidation across the short-term charts.

EOS news and prices

Monero (XMR) news and prices

Another crypto jacking malware has been discovered by security researchers which target victims computers to mine Monero and even conceal itself from getting detected.

Dubbed “Norman,” the malware was discovered by the Varonis Security Research. According to the firm, the malware is primarily targeting computers at mid-sized enterprises to utilize computing power to mine CPU-centric coins like Monero.
