Kaizer Chiefs are set for another squad overhaul ahead of the new season but one ageing player is likely to remain.
The player in question is none other than Khama Billiat. The Zimbabwean international who has been saddled with injuries during the current campaign.

It appeared that Chiefs were going to make the tough call to allow him to leave but have done a 180 turn, according to SoccerLaduma.

Billiat to get another year at Chiefs?
“The technical team still believes in him. It has just been unfortunate that he has been out injured but now that he is fit, they want to see how his experience can help the team next season and that’s what can also influence the one-year contract extension,” the publication prints.
Billiat to get a one-year extension in exchange for his experience and mentoring the club’s younger stars. That appears to be the thinking inside the Chiefs camp.

“As you may know, it is not a done deal, as they wanted to see what will happen when he is fully healed and then take it from there. Now that he is fit and training again, let’s wait and see. But there is light at the end of the tunnel for him,” the source added.
Coach Arthur Zwane told the club’s website that the forward is likely to play again soon following a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
“Khama might be available for the last three or four games of the season.
“We are going to have to manage him and see if he will be ready again to play,” said the Chiefs mentor.
Big plans for next season
Chiefs remain in the race to finish second in the PSL which would see them compete in the CAF Champions League. And that is where the experience of Billiat could very well come in handy.
