Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag is looking to bring an elite striker to the club before the summer transfer window comes to a close.

The Dutchman insists that he needs to get “the right man” in to bolster his options going forward.

“It’s in our power to get the right man in,” ten Hag said ahead of United‘s pre-season friendly against Arsenal.

.”We know our targets. We do everything we can, every effort we put in to get this done.

“It’s an area where we need improvement,” he said.

Ten Hag not gunning for Kane

United have been linked to Tottenham captain Harry Kane in the past few months but ten Hag this week confirmed that the club had not approached the England striker.

“I don’t come in to talk about specific players who are under contract at another club.”

Ten hag was also pressed on whether there were any financial constraints when planning our next move, as has been suggested in some quarters.

“You have to talk,” ten Hag said. “You make the question to the wrong person. I am aware of finance, of FFP rules. Across United, we do everything to get the target in.”

Ten Hag and his troops are currently on tour in the United States for their pre-season. They will face-off against Arsenal and Real Madrid in the next coming days.

United kick-off their season on 14 August against Wolves.
