All the talk in the PSL is now firmly around who will finish second to Mamelodi Sundowns in the PSL. It’s not good news for Pirates but it is for Chiefs…

Kaizer Chiefs have fallen behind in the race to finish second in the PSL and book a place in the CAF Champions League.

The advantage rests with Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United after the weekend’s action which saw both those teams win and Chiefs stumble to an unlikely draw.

But according to this results predicting, Chiefs will still pip Pirates to second place.

PSL PREDICTION: KAIZER CHIEFS TO END WITH 54 POINTS

Sunday, 23 April v Sekhukhune United (A) – 17:30

Our prediction: Sekhukhune United are in poor form and Chiefs will be moving furiously towards the finishing line at this point. Another Chiefs win and the fans can start to enjoy the season once again.

Thursday, 27 April v Chippa United (A) – 15:30

Our prediction: Another side dwindling near the basement, it’s never a straight forward visit to face the Chili Boys. Perhaps the current squad will be playing for a place in the team next year with so many players rumoured to be arriving at Naturena. Regardless, it’s hard to see Chiefs losing this one.

Tuesday, 2 May v Swallows (H) – 19:30

Our prediction: Swallows are another team likely to be needing points to stay out of relegation. Just three games to go now in the league but Chiefs are at home. Big win coming.

Saturday, 13 May v SuperSport United (A) – 15:00

Our prediction: The toughest and most important fixture in Chiefs’ quest to finish second. If Amakhosi have beaten the struggling teams to this point, it is likely they will start this match ahead of SuperSport. They could set up ultra-defensively and then make a play to score on the counter attack. A draw is the most reasonable result.

Saturday, 20 May v Cape Town City FC (H) – 15:00

Our prediction: City are another team in form but just imagine if Chiefs know that a victory will book second place. The last day of league action will be manic but there could be a win for the home team.

ORLANDO PIRATES TO FINISH WITH 53 POINTS

Saturday, 22 April vs Cape Town City (H)

Home ground advantage will probably count fo a lot here. City have been in good form but have a tendency to wobble on the road. Perhaps a bit risky but we’re tipping the Bucs to win a tense battle. It would be a massive statement for Pirates.

Sunday, 30 April vs TS Galaxy (A)

Many won’t like to read it, but this has draw written all over it. TS Galaxy have good form and have found their feet in the second half of the season.

Wednesday, 3 May vs Royal AM (H)

It will not be a walk in the park but you’d expect Pirates to have too much in the tank especially at home.

Saturday, 13 May vs Sekhukhune United (H)

Another home game, another win. Pirates will be flying at this point and watching with glee as Chiefs face two tough games at home to close out their season.

Saturday, 20 May vs Amazulu (A)

A final day away trip for Pirates and it’s not going to be easy. Not nice to say but maybe the pressure is too much and Amazulu bank a surprise win.
