Kaizer Chiefs defender Sifiso Hlanti might be on the way out as speculation grows over his future at the under-performing PSL giants.

His Chiefs contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and it’s said that he did receive an extension offer, as reported by SABC Sport.

That report stated that Chiefs have been keen to keep the experienced defender even if it is on a short-term deal, with the option for a one-year extension expected to be triggered.

Hlanti to take pay cut?

However, it’s now been shared by popular online source Unplayable that the 33-year-old could in fact end up leaving the club because “the offer to extend for another season is lower than the contract that expires on 30 June, which means he must take a salary cut. The two parties may part ways.”

The experienced Bafana Bafana left-back is highly valued for his experience and leadership as Chiefs continue to go through a rebuilding phase.

But will he be happy with the payment terms at this stage of his career?
