Springboks star Franco Mostert is trending after he bought a new Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon. Over the years, he has quickly become one of the most followed rugby stars, and he often trends against the backdrop of his big wins.

EB Motors confirmed Franco Mostert’s purchase. The car dealership shared a video of the star receiving his sleek German beast.

Taking to Instagram, EB Motors posted, “A huge congratulations to @franco_mostert on his G-Wagon. From the entire team at EB Motors, we thank you for choosing the EB experience, but most importantly, we thank you for making our nation proud.”

The post has gained thousands of comments and reactions since it dropped on the internet. Fans were quick to flood social media with congratulatory messages.

Against the post, Franco Mostert commented, “You guys are amazing. Thank you for all the support. We will meet again, haha.” However, one user commented, “He bought a car as big as him. Congratulations, brother.” Another user posted, “Big boy toys.”

Some petrolheads were quick to give his purchase a nod, while others were quick to implicate the car’s price tag into the mix. However, how much Franco Mostert splurged on his new car is unknown. A Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon has a base price of R4 million in several dealerships dotted around the country.

Franco Mostert joins a host of Springboks stars who reportedly own Mercedes-Benz. Springboks speedster Cheslin Kolbe reportedly owns a Mercedes-Benz AMG A45. Siya Kolisi has often been spotted driving around with a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon. He also reportedly owns two Mercedes-Benz SUVs.

No doubt, with an illustrious career spanning years, the Springboks lock has fast become one of the celebrated rugby stars and has won two World Cups with South Africa.

Franco Mostert went down in the Rugby World Cup history books with the Springboks. South Africa won the tenth edition of the Rugby World Cup, which saw them becoming the first to win four World Cups in eight appearances.

However, against the win, the Boks became the second team after the All Blacks to win the World Cup back-to-back. On the other hand, Siya Kolisi became the second captain to lift the cup twice.

Will Franco Mostert play at the next World Cup? He turned 33 in 2023, and Mzansi has been trying to connect the dots about his future. Many doubted that he would have his last dance in the green and gold in 2027, given that he will be 37.
