Kaizer Chiefs rock-bottom of the 2023 table

Chiefs only have four points from six matches this calendar year, placing them rock bottom of the table since the turn of the year. It’s not all doom and gloom though. They’re just three points behind Orlando Pirates and five behind SuperSport.

Zwane received public backing from Kaizer Motaung Jr after sections of fans called for the manager’s head, chanting “Arthur must go” after the 3-2 defeat at home to Golden Arrows.

Zwane is ignoring the noise coming from outside the club, however, and preparing his side for a massive Soweto Derby with Pirates.

“I’ve always been saying this, the club has always had a plan. We’ve got a plan and it doesn’t matter. As much as we know we need three points, we want to win every game.

“So I’m not going into this game, worried about my job or worried about many other things.

“The focus is on playing this game and make that the players apply themselves correctly and I’m there for them as the head coach of the club.”
