Lamontville Golden Arrows coach Mabhuti Khenyeza could be replaced by Steve Komphela in the coming weeks according to reports.

The 41-year-old has suffered his 11th defeat of the season after his side went down 1-0 to Kaizer Chiefs on Tuesday afternoon.

Having started the 2023/24 DStv Premiership on a high, Khenyeza’s men have dropped off in the past four months.

‘Things I saw at Swallows, I have not seen anywhere’ – Komphela

Arrows have not registered a win since October last year. Their last league win was on October 28 when they beat Kaizer Chiefs 2-1, a side they ironically lost to on Tuesday.

Komphela linked with Khenyeza’s job at Arrows

Khenyeza and his men were though, awarded three points in December after Moroka Swallows forfeited the match.

The ex-Cheifs striker is not fearing for his job despite rumours emerging that Komphela might be returning to the KZN-based club.

“The club supports everyone, especially the players, because we are all in this situation and I have not had any negative things, all I get is support,” Khenyeza told the media amid Komphela’s return.

“We just need to win one game and then we will see from there because now we can’t think about the top eight. We must think about the game that we need to win. At the end of the day, there are things you can’t change, especially in football,” he said as per Sowetan.

Komphela is currently back in the market having left Swallows.
