In the ongoing 2023-24 DStv Premiership season, the spotlight shine on emerging young talents making waves across the league. 

The below players are arguably individuals that PSL clubs should be looking at in the January transfer window.

These seven emerging players have seized their opportunities, delivering standout performances in the first half of the campaign, according to Timeslive

Relebohile Mofokeng, 19, Orlando Pirates

Mofokeng, a rising star from Orlando Pirates, has not only impressed with his general play and ability to take on defenders but has also earned a trial with English Premiership side Wolverhampton Wanderers. Despite no goals and two assists, Mofokeng’s potential is undeniable.

Shandre Campbell, 18, SuperSport United

Campbell, an outstanding left-footed attacking winger, showcased his talent in SuperSport’s 3-1 victory over Pirates, contributing two goals and an assist. Under coach Gavin Hunt, Campbell has become a marvel with two goals and as many assists.

Jayden Adams, 22, Stellenbosch FC

An attacking midfielder, Adams, has been a consistent performer for Stellenbosch, helping them secure the Carling Knockout. With three goals and an assist in 12 DStv Premiership appearances, he earned a spot in Bafana Bafana’s preliminary Africa Cup of Nations squad.

Luke Baartman, 17, Cape Town Spurs

Despite Cape Town Spurs struggling in the league, Luke Baartman has been a shining light, becoming the second-youngest player to score in the PSL. His two league goals include a memorable strike against Kaizer Chiefs.

Ime Okon, 19, SuperSport United

Okon, a lanky central defender, has impressively kept experienced Siyanda Xulu on the bench. With his muscular presence and intelligence beyond his years, Okon caught the eye of Bafana coach Hugo Broos, earning a place in the preliminary squad.

Thapelo Maseko, 20, Mamelodi Sundowns
