Pule Mmodi’s second-half goal was enough to give Kaizer Chiefs a 1-0 win over Polokwane City at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Amakhosi came into the match high in confidence following their Soweto Derby win against Swallows last weekend.

Polokwane City, who have had a decent start to the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season, lost to TS Galaxy 3-0 in their last game and were looking to bounce back.

Rise and Shine started the match well and forced Chiefs keeper Bruce Bvuma into two fine saves in the early stages.

City started the match well having most of the possession but failed to find the opening goal.

Mmodi gives Chiefs the lead.

Chiefs, came into the second half a different team and had CIty’s defence underpressure.

Amakhosi are back in business after another win

Mmodi’s good run allowed him to cut inside and fired a shot past Manuel Sapunga in City’s goals.

Amakhosi managed to hold on to the lead to claim a win and climb up to sixth on the log.

Polokwane City are now without a win in their last seven PSL games.
