Kaizer Chiefs climb to fifth after crucial win in Polokwane

Kaizer Chiefs climbed to fifth on the DStv Premiership log standings after defeating Polokwane City on Saturday afternoon

Kaizer Chiefs returned to DStv Premiership action on Saturday afternoon when they traveled to the Peter Mokaba Stadium to face Polokwane City.

Despite chances at either end, neither side were able to break the deadlock in the opening half.

Five minutes after half-time, Pule Mmodi produced a moment of brilliance to break the deadlock. The speedy winger eliminated his marker before firing into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

There were no further goals at the Peter Mokaba Stadium with Cavin Johnson’s side walking away with a full three points.

We have enough quality – Johnson

“Look I think we have enough quality in the team, I just think they have not been given enough opportunities as individuals and I think the way we assess them, or the way we analyse them as part of the Chiefs family,” Johnson told iDiskiTimes

“I think that needs to be a little better between myself and my coaching staff. Because then we can give them more, they can be more positive towards themselves.

“If you did come to Kaizer Chiefs as an average player, then we will make you a better player. I think we need to get in their skin right now and there are good players.”
