Mamelodi Sundowns reject Haashim Domingo is en route to Morocco to negotiate terms with a view to seal a move to Raja Casablanca.

Ex-Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Haashim Domingo is en route to Morocco’s Raja Casablanca in search of a new football home and could seal a move.

The industrious midfielder, Domingo was recently released by Sundowns after lifting the 2022/23 DStv Premiership trophy and he is set to join Raja Casablanca.

According to his handler, Glyn Binkin, Domingo is scheduled to fly to the North African country to hold talks with the club’s management regarding personal terms.

SUNDOWNS REJECT DOMINGO OFF TO MOROCCO

The former Bidvest Wits midfielder’s stay was not extended at Chloorkop as coach Rulani Mokwena felt he was surplus to requirement.

Binkin confirmed the developments to TimesLIVE, saying together with his client, they are ready to jet off from South Africa on Saturday as they look to seal the deal.

“We’ll be flying to Morocco on Saturday to enter into negotiations for Haashim Domingo to transfer to Raja Casablanca,” Binkin said.

“We’re excited about the opportunity. Obviously, we’re not getting ahead of ourselves but hopefully, everything will go smoothly and he’ll become a Raja player for next season.”

The veteran player’s agent added that Domingo hopes to find a new lease of life in Casablanca as he had a good time with the Tshwane-based Sundowns.

Raja recently announced that former Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer will guide the 12-time Botola champions and the 27-year-old has an opportunity to grow as a footballer.

The interest in Morocco comes as the playmaker, Domingo has been linked with several DStv Premiership sides such as Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United after ending his sting with Sundowns earlier this month.

“It’s an opportunity for him. The life and the culture appeals to him. He had a very good tenure at Sundowns and maybe it’s just a new chapter in his life,” Binkin added.

“Also he’s played in Europe before, in Portugal. So it’s something different for him. He’s played for the top club in South Africa. Morocco would be a new chapter and he’s looking forward to it.”

As reported by The South African, Domingo moved to the CAF Champions League semi-finalists in 2020 and scooped three league titles at the Brazilians.
