SHOCK BOK RETURN: Rassie willing to consider Elton Jantjies!

Elton Jantjies could make an infamous return to the Springboks this year after Rassie Erasmus dropped this BOMBSHELL.

Even the most avid Springboks supporter would have told you that Jantjies’ (Elton) days in the green and gold are numbered.

However, his excellent form in France has prompted Rassie to take note, with SA’s director of rugby even willing to consider him for test matches this year. So, could we see Jantjies slide into Jacques Nienaber’s Rugby World Cup squad?

RASSIE OPEN TO JANTJIES’ POSSIBLE SPRINGBOKS RETURN

Rassie has always been unpredictable, but nobody saw this coming.

The former Springbok coach has not closed the selection door to Elton Jantjies. This, despite being kicked out of the Bok camp after affair allegations were made against him. Jantjies was rumoured to be having an affair with Bok dietician Zeenat Simjee.

Now, it appears that Erasmus has closed that chapter. Furthermore, he is even willing to consider welcoming Jantjies’ infamous return if he is needed this year.

“Elton, the way he has been playing over in France [Agen], we will consider him,” Erasmus stated Rugby365.

Currently, the Boks only have one flyhalf in training, with Handre Pollard, Damian Willemse and Frans Steyn all nursing injuries. Thankfully, Pollard and Willemse should be fit for the Rugby Championship.

Unfortunately, Steyn could miss the Rugby World Cup, as previously reported on The South African.

NIENABER IS UNLIKELY TO SELECT HIM FOR RUGBY WORLD CUP

So, Erasmus will consider selecting Jantjies because of his fine form for the French side Agen.

Although, he is unlikely to be selected ahead of Handre Pollard, Manie Libbok or Damian Willemse.

Therefore, if we see Jantjies in the green and gold, it will likely be in the event of injury. He also did not cut into Nienaber’s.
