Orlando Pirates host Kaizer Chiefs in the much-talked-about Soweto Derby on Saturday, 9 March at FNB Stadium.

Kick-off is at 15:30.

This will be the 179th meeting between Pirates and Chiefs since January 1970, and 106th in the league during the period.

But have the two Soweto giants ever met on 9 March? The answer is YES!

WHAT HAPPENED WHEN PIRATES AND CHIEFS MET ON 9 MARCH?

It was during the 2012-13 season when the league’s second Soweto Derby of the season between Pirates and Chiefs was played on 9 March 2013.

And the match ended in a dull 0-0 as both sides continuously fired blanks in front of a packed FNB Stadium.

It was the first time Pirates and Chiefs met on that date, meaning this will only be the second time they clash on 9 March.

Now, to football punters, are we going to see a repeat of 2013 or there will a winner this time? Let us know below…
