‘Real men apologise’ – Pitso Mosimane to Percy Tau

Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau was feeling very lonely after his penalty howler. Until Pitso Mosimane sent him a note.

Bafana Bafana forward Tau needed support and Pitso Mosimane delivered when it mattered the most.

PERCY TAU APOLOGISES FOR MISSING BAFANA BAFANA PENALTY AGAINST MALI AT AFCON 2023

As previously reported, Tau squandered Bafana’s first potential goal at Afcon 2023. The Al Ahly star ballooned a penalty kick before Mali grabbed two goals in the 60th and 66th minutes.

The 29-year-old from eMalahleni later sent an apology to Bafana fans, before his former coach Mosimane responded with warm and encouraging words.

“Real men are not shy to apologise,” Mosimane said via X.

“We have to move on , and we can still qualify beyond the group stages.

“We have to play the same or better than the way we played in the first half.

“Beside the penalty you missed , your aggressive forward runs were threatening and gave Mali problems,” Mosimane concluded.

SOUTH AFRICA’S AFCON 2023 FIXTURES  

Meanwhile, while a win and draw might be enough for progression, Bafana need to win both remaining games to guarantee a spot in the last 16.

  • Namibia – Sunday, 21 January at 22:00.
  • Tunisia – Wednesday, 24 January at 19:00.
